Quality Matters at SageWest Health Care
Alan Daugherty, CEO of SageWest Health Care
As you may know, October 15-21 has been designated as National Healthcare Quality Week, an important time to recognize and celebrate the contributions of dedicated healthcare professionals and raise awareness of the importance of delivering high-quality care. In honor of this national observance, I’d like to take the opportunity to share with our community what quality means to us at SageWest Health Care and highlight one of our recent successes along our quality journey.
A clean bill of health from The Joint Commission (TJC) was one of many great accomplishments this year for SageWest. The hospital underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite survey with a team of Joint Commission expert surveyors who evaluated compliance with hospital standards, and surgical and central sterile processing areas. We are so proud that this survey resulted in zero deficiencies. As such, SageWest continues to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for hospital accreditation, an esteemed symbol of quality, by meeting rigorous performance standards and delivering safe, high-quality care.
Most importantly, I want our community to know that quality is a way of life that encompasses everything we do at SageWest. It incorporates how we care for patients, how we ensure the health and safety of each of our employees, and how we contribute to the health of our communities. Quality also means that every person at our hospital – our physicians, our employees in every department, and our patients and their family members – plays an important role in the delivery of quality care.
To us, quality is a never-ending journey, and we are constantly striving to improve the care we provide. We have made significant improvements in our operations and will continue to incorporate specific programs and initiatives to help raise the level of quality and safety at SageWest. While we are proud of the work we’ve done, we know that our job is far from finished. Our team is committed to strengthening the overall quality of our system and ensuring that we can effectively meet the healthcare needs of those we serve for years to come.
It is our privilege to serve you and your family. Thank you for entrusting your care to SageWest Health Care. To learn more about our hospital, visit http://www.sagewesthealthcare.com/.
