    Meet SageWest's Monarch Award Nominee Janine Turnington, Physical Therapist

    Janine Turnington, physical therapist at SageWest Health Care, is the hospitals’ nominee for the 2024 Monarch Caring and Community Award, the highest honor bestowed to caregivers at ScionHealth, SageWest’s parent company. ScionHealth operates 92 hospitals across 28 states and employs more than 25,000.

     

    The Monarch Caring and Community award recognizes the company’s most exceptional caregivers who consistently go above and beyond to deliver excellent patient care, elevate the patient’s experience, and support their colleagues and communities.

     

    Janine is dedicated to ensuring patients have the necessary equipment for a safe hospital discharge home, going above and beyond to overcome any barriers. She takes the initiative to promote patient mobility, even with challenges, to enhance a person’s recovery. Beyond her healthcare work, Janine actively serves her community through Scouts and her church, mentoring youth to be responsible citizens. Her behind-the-scenes efforts in organizing and supporting fundraising demonstrate her commitment to treating others with kindness and respect.

    “Janine is such a kind and compassionate person who strives to provide the best possible care for her patients,” shared Heather Nielsen, PT, DPT, Director of Therapy Services of SageWest Health Care. “She continually goes above and beyond to ensure her patients’ needs are met. Janine is not afraid to speak up and advocate for what she believes in and for those who cannot. Her warm and positive attitude is infectious, and she is such a joy to be around. Our facility is better because of her.”

     

    Janine was recognized with the other 90+ finalists from ScionHealth earlier this month at the ScionHealth Caregiver Summit in Louisville, which is the location of the company’s corporate headquarters.
